Slumdog Millionaire <<一百萬零一夜>>

I learned about this film quite a while ago ... surprisingly not from the Oscar news report, but from a small leaflet handed to me at the ticket office, when I bought the ticket to see '赤壁' back in Chinese new year.

I thought it was an Indian movie, and because of the interesting plot, I want to see this movie ... and in a way, to show my encouragement to the Indian movie makers. (After the Oscar, I learned it's not really an Indian-maker movie, it's a movie by British director, Danny Boyle. There is an Indian co-director, though.)

I like the movie for its story, camera angles directions, music and the cast.

And I can't help thinking about the many similarities between India and Mainland China. I still don't know what is the Indian government (or community) take on this movie. Any one?

There are voices out there asking HK filmmakers to leverage their closeness with Mainland China and create movies with the same kind of success as 'Slumdog Millionaire'. The question is, IF the story were to talk about the negative side in Mainland, would the officials or the influentials have the gut to publish the it to the world? 胸襟 or breath of mind is what can take Mainland to the next level of success.
